Rocked by Diepsloot

I HAD AN ERROR IN MY LAST NEWSLETTER:  In Diepsloot there are not 20,000 people but over 200,000 people living in poverty in a two mile radius!!  Mind blowing.  Keep us in prayer as we go to one of the shack cities tomorrow to work with some children.  If you haven’t seen the latest newsletter, CLICK HERE.

Settling in South Africa

The trip was long but worth it!!  We are here in a huge metropolitan area in South Africa where there are so many READY to be loved and hear the gospel!  We are finding a wonderful relationship with a local pastor here and I am preaching this Sunday at a small church.  Pray with us for big things!

Touchdown in South Africa!

We’re here!  Finally and at long last.  We’re so excited at what’s to come…I can barely stand it.  Our family is safe and sound and we will be attending Christmas service at our new home church here in Pretoria where we will be basing our church planting and relief efforts.  Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you faithful ones who have helped us thus far!

Why aren’t prophetic gifts more encouraged?

Too often, the use of prophetic gifts (words of encouragement from God, words of knowledge, prophetic direction, etc.) are not encouraged and sometimes even discouraged.  One reason for this, I think, is that the prophetic is given TOO MUCH credibility.  In other words, Pastors don’t feel they have the right to challenge a “word from God” and so they are uncomfortable with people sharing them.  But the bible clearly says we are to WEIGH or JUDGE prophetic words (1 Cor. 14).  We should encourage them more, but give them less credibility – not because God gets it wrong, but because we are faulty vessels through which God speaks.  Why do you think prophetic gifts aren’t more encouraged?

Prophetic Words Requested!!

We are leaving in one week!  Would you take some time to hear from God and send us any prophetic words, encouragements, or revelations regarding our family and our mission to South Africa?  We want to be saturated in the Spirit and the direction and life of our Savior.  THANK YOU!!
